Keynote Presentation by IBM: Cybersecurity in the Cognitive Era
AIOPS-13
It's no surprise that our organizations are under attack by industrialized threats from highly skilled adversaries. At same time we're drowning in information, facing a growing skills shortage, and often dealing with security infrastructures from the dark ages. It's no wonder that the industry is looking for the latest magic bullet, and Cognitive security is now the king of the hype curve. We'll talk about the threats in more detail, the growing migration from compliance to risk-focused security, and how security is fundamentally an information management problem. We'll investigate how cognitive technology is being applied in real organizations today, and try to get beyond the marketing and hype to understand this fundamental shift coming our way.

The Use of AI and ML to Ensure Proper Cybersecurity for IoT Devices
AIOPS-12
During this session, we will discuss various ways that AI and ML can be utilized to ensure proper cybersecurity for IOT devices. Examples of devices could include patient care devices within a healthcare setting, or devices that empower security monitoring within a corporate environment, or devices that run HVAC controls. Proper security of IOT devices begins with inventory and continues on through monitoring and lifecycle management of these devices and their cyber “health”. Only when you know what is “normal” behavior can you determine what is abnormal. This is where AI and ML come into play. By combining data from other installations, and using that with ML algorithms, can we finally feel like these system are being monitored and secured the way they should be.

Companies are rushing to embrace the AI revolution and Natural Language Processing technology promises a conversational experience “just like talking to a human” - but the science does not always live up the marketing hype. Whether a chatbot is deployed in the contact center as a virtual, first-tier agent or in social media as part of a digital marketing campaign, there are a lot of pitfalls to avoid and the path to success is not always obvious. 3 Next Practices that Leverage AI/ML to Optimize Application Performance
AIOPS-17
FogLogic
If you are a CIO, VP of IT Operations or other IT leader, you are under constant pressure to ensure that IT systems operate at maximum efficiency. The pace of change in today’s increasingly digitalized business environment means that what has worked in the past  ?  as codified by Best Practices  ?  Increasingly will not work moving forward. This has given rise to the concept of Next Practices.  Next Practices do not focus on improving existing processes since existing processes are becoming increasingly obsoleted by transformative technologies. They deal with the best ways to rethink your processes for the future, leveraging transformative technologies like AI and machine learning (ML), to make your processes smarter. This presentation describes three inter-connected examples of how AI-powered Next Practices can be applied to transform your system incident detection and resolution process to meet service-level targets today and create scalability for tomorrow.
